History: In the late 1940s, Malaysia gained its independence from Great Britain who had colonized Malaysia during the 18th and 19th centuries. Modern Malaysia was formed in 1963. Mattathir bin Mohammed ruled the country for 22 years from 1981 to 2003.

CCI’s ministry here: CCI began ministry here in 2004. Chris Leong, pastor with a Brethren church in Kuala Lumpur, learned of the BTCP concept & curriculum while visiting the Philippines. Since then, training has grown among Brethren and Baptist churches around Kuala Lumpur. The vision is to develop training throughout the country to impact the nation for Christ.
